Our Setting

We have an enviable location based on the grounds of the local primary school surrounded by fields and trees and benefiting from the close links with school. We have a new purpose built building that we moved into September 2016, still located in the school site. We benefit from having a large school field, playground and forest area with our own “Mud Kitchen” enabling us to plan exciting outdoor based activities to progress children’s development in different ways.

Children form strong bonds with kind, caring and sensitive staff who ensure that their individual needs are precisely met.

Welcome Time

Adults welcome the children and the children self-register by means of a name board in their welcome group.

Work Time

children make choices and carry out their self-chosen activities both indoors and outdoors. They are supported by practitioners who offer assistance where required and encourage the children to problem solve and facilitate further learning.

Snack-Time

we operate a “rolling snack” which means children choose, during work-time, when to visit the Snack Café for a healthy snack.

Tidy-up Time

all children are encouraged to tidy away the resources used during work-time, which they do to our “Tidy up music” after a five minute warning bell.

Circle Time

Children join together for a short circle time when birthdays are celebrated, songs sung, exercises to music, etc Children benefit from French sessions, Welsh sessions, Spanish sessions and Makaton is used daily.

Outdoor Activities

all the children take part in a variety of activities such as bikes, cars, prams, balls, hoops, mud kitchen, walks etc.

Story Time/Relax Time

children join together for story time followed by a “wind-down” time where they relax for a few minutes to soothing music.

Lunch Club

Children stay for lunch club where the Pre Schoolers go over to the school hall to eat their lunch with the school children, whilst the others enjoy their lunches in nursery. There is an option of a cooked lunch at an extra cost provided by the school cook. Children are also welcome to bring their own packed lunch.
