About Us

Our Aim is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can fully develop their individuality and uniqueness.

Tarvin Pre-School & Day Nursery is situated in the grounds of Tarvin Primary School. Whilst it is completely independent from the school, we have very close links and are invited to share many experiences the school provides.

We have a fabulous outdoor environment surrounded by green fields and trees. There is space to play and explore including a wooded area for us to explore nature and offer children many first-hand learning opportunities.

The Nursery is a community nursery, a limited company (limited by guarantee), not for profit and a registered charity. Fund raising is a requirement and we rely on having an active fund-raising committee.

Tarvin Pre-School & Day Nursery has evolved from a playgroup run from someone’s home fifty years ago to the superb learning environment it is now under the direction of the Nursery Manager and Director, Lyn Jackson who has a first-class honours degree and Early Years Professional status.

Lyn has led her team to “Outstanding” in all areas in the last three Ofsted Inspections.
